Starter grades only

The NFC East continues to be the most talked about division in football. Two strong contenders sit at the top, while the bottom half still has clear gaps to close.

1. Philadelphia Eagles - 80 Points

Philadelphia takes the top spot with one of the most well-rounded rosters in the division. Besides safety there are no holes on this roster.

Offense

  • QB: 7

  • RB: 7

  • WR1: 7

  • WR2: 6

  • WR3: 5

  • TE: 6

  • OL: 7

Defense

  • DE/EDGE: 5

  • DT: 7

  • LB: 8

  • CB: 8

  • S: 2

Special Teams

  • K/P: 5

Why they rank here: Elite linebacker and cornerback play headline a balanced roster. Strong depth across offense and defense gives Philly the edge. If they find a solution at safety this could be the best roster in football.

2. Dallas Cowboys - 76 Points

Dallas sits right behind with a dangerous offense and solid overall talent.

Offense

  • QB: 8

  • RB: 6

  • WR1: 7

  • WR2: 8

  • WR3: 5

  • TE: 5

  • OL: 6

Defense

  • DE/EDGE: 5

  • DT: 7

  • LB: 4

  • CB: 4

  • S: 5

Special Teams

  • K/P: 6

Why they rank here: A strong passing attack and balanced scoring ability keep Dallas competitive, but defensive inconsistencies hold them just behind Philly. The gap has closed but they have not caught up to the Eagles.

3. New York Giants - 51 Points

The Giants land third with defensive strengths but major offensive concerns.

Offense

  • QB: 4

  • RB: 5

  • WR1: 7

  • WR2: 2

  • WR3: 2

  • TE: 4

  • OL: 4

Defense

  • DE/EDGE: 7

  • DT: 3

  • LB: 6

  • CB: 3

  • S: 2

Special Teams

  • K/P: 2

Why they rank here: A solid front seven provides upside, but the lack of depth and playmaking on offense limits their ceiling.

4. Washington Commanders - 50 Points

Washington rounds out the division with a roster still building toward consistency.

Offense

  • QB: 6

  • RB: 4

  • WR1: 8

  • WR2: 3

  • WR3: 3

  • TE: 2

  • OL: 3

Defense

  • DE/EDGE: 4

  • DT: 4

  • LB: 4

  • CB: 2

  • S: 2

Special Teams

  • K/P: 5

Why they rank here: There are flashes of offensive talent, especially at WR1, but overall roster depth and defensive reliability remain concerns.

Final NFC East Rankings

  1. Philadelphia Eagles - 80

  2. Dallas Cowboys - 76

  3. New York Giants - 51

  4. Washington Commanders - 50

Takeaway

Philadelphia leads the division on paper, but Dallas is right behind. The gap between the top two and the rest of the division is significant heading into the season.

Did Dallas do enough to catch the Eagles this year? They are getting closer...
